All skin lesion removal procedures are conducted or overseen by a trained medical professional to ensure your safety, comfort, and optimal results.
We use FDA-approved medical devices and tools—such as hyfrecator (electrodessication), cryotherapy, or laser-based methods—depending on the type and location of the lesion. Each treatment is quick, precise, and tailored to your skin.
A hyfrecator treatment, also known as electrocautery, is a state-of-the-art procedure that uses a specialized device to precisely target and remove skin lesions. At Serene Skin and Wellness MedSpa, our skilled aestheticians use a hyfrecator—a small, pen-like tool—to deliver controlled micro-injuries that gently burn off unwanted skin growths. This minimally invasive technique is perfect for addressing a variety of common skin concerns without the need for surgery.
Hyfrecator treatments are designed to deliver noticeable results with minimal downtime. After your treatment, the targeted skin lesions will crust and naturally fall off within about two weeks. To optimize healing, we recommend applying Vaseline to the treated area and avoiding picking at it.
Most treatments are well tolerated and require little to no numbing. You may feel a slight sting or heat sensation during the procedure. Discomfort is minimal, and any redness or irritation usually subsides within a few days.
Our methods are designed to minimize scarring. With proper aftercare, most clients experience little to no visible marks after healing.
Treatment time varies depending on the number and size of lesions, but most sessions take 15–45 minutes.
Results are often visible immediately or within a few days as the treated area heals. You’ll notice smoother, clearer skin with a more even appearance.
Your provider will recommend appropriate products to help enhance results and/or minimize potential side effects.
Treated area will scab for 7-10 days. Do not pick, peel, rub, scrub or irritate your skin in any way while it is healing, as this may cause scarring. Especially dry areas should be kept hydrated with Aquaphor or a product recommended to you by your aesthetician. Avoid heat, saunas, hot tubs and sweaty activity for 1-2 days; this includes exercise of any kind. You may resume your regular skin care routine 5 days after treatment once the area is healed. If scabs or irritation are still visible after 5 days, please call our office
