Microneedling

At The Serene MedSpa, we’re dedicated to helping you achieve radiant, youthful skin with advanced treatments like SkinPen® Microneedling. Below, we’ve answered some of the most common questions about this rejuvenating procedure to help you understand how it can enhance your natural beauty.
SkinPen® Elite Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a minimally invasive treatment offered at The Serene MedSpa to rejuvenate your skin. This state-of-the-art procedure uses the SkinPen® device to create controlled micro-injuries that stimulate your body’s natural healing process, promoting the production of collagen and elastin. It’s designed to reduce signs of aging, improve acne scars, and enhance overall skin texture for a refreshed, glowing complexion.
At The Serene MedSpa, our SkinPen® device creates hundreds of tiny microchannels in the skin, triggering the release of growth factors and cytokines that remodel collagen and elastin. The device operates at high speed, cycling at over 100 stamps per second, potentially creating over 1,600 microchannels per second. This process encourages your skin to naturally repair and renew itself, resulting in healthier, more vibrant skin.
SkinPen® Microneedling at The Serene MedSpa is highly effective for:
• Reducing signs of aging, such as fine lines, wrinkles, and uneven skin texture
• Improving the appearance of acne scars
• Rejuvenating aging or sun-damaged skin
• Enhancing skin on various body areas, including the face, neck, and décolletage
This versatile treatment is safe for all skin types, from light to dark, making it an excellent option for a wide range of clients.
Our skilled professionals at The Serene MedSpa use the medical-grade SkinPen® device, available only through licensed providers, to perform microneedling. The treatment typically takes 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the areas being treated and the level of correction desired. A topical anesthetic is applied before the procedure to ensure your comfort, and most clients experience only a mild vibration during the session.
SkinPen®’s adjustable needle depth allows us to safely treat multiple areas of the body. At The Serene MedSpa, we commonly use SkinPen® on the face, neck, and décolletage, but it can be customized to address other areas based on your unique needs. Consult with our team to create a personalized treatment plan.
During your SkinPen® session at The Serene MedSpa, a topical anesthetic ensures minimal discomfort, with most clients feeling only a gentle vibration. After the procedure, you may experience mild redness or swelling, similar to a light sunburn, which typically subsides within 2–4 days. Some clients’ skin may return to normal within 24 hours. Our team will provide detailed aftercare instructions to support your skin’s healing process.
Your skin’s natural repair process will continue to improve over several weeks following treatment at The Serene MedSpa. While some improvements may be visible sooner, optimal results often appear up to six months after your final session, as collagen and elastin production continues. Individual results may vary depending on your skin’s condition and goals.
At The Serene MedSpa, we tailor your treatment plan to your specific skin goals and overall skin health. Most clients benefit from a series of three SkinPen® sessions, spaced approximately four weeks apart, to achieve the best results. During your consultation, our experts will recommend the ideal number of treatments for you.
